Position Description: Texas A&M University's Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, in the College of Education and Human Development, invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Academic Professional Track position, 9 month academic appointment with anticipated start date of September 1, 2022. The Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development and the College of Education and Human Development are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research and service.
Responsibilities: 80% Teaching: The successful candidate will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses/per semester, develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; deliver instruction both online and on any of the university campuses. Instructional duties may include teaching during the day, in the evening, or on Saturday. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs; remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes;
10% Research: Demonstrate potential for publishing in top-tier academic journals and external funding activity consistent with clinical professor.
10% Service: Maintain appropriate schedule for student access and inquiry; promote, recruit, and admit students to the program in partnership with undergraduate advisors, attend scheduled orientation, and participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability in the discipline and show clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, research, and service. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals.
Qualifications: Applicants for this position should have an earned doctorate in Educational Human Resource Development or related field, having teaching experience in higher education, a commitment to research and service consistent with Academic Professional Track faculty members at a Research Extensive university.
