The Department of Leadership, Technology, & Workforce Development in the Dewar College of Education and Human Services seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position beginning August 1, 2021. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.
The department strives to develop practitioners and researchers who are knowledgeable and skilled in improving school and other learning organizations in our region and beyond. We offer three different doctoral degrees, two education specialist degrees, five master’s degrees, two undergraduate degrees, and a variety of certificate and teaching endorsement programs for P-12 school, corporate, and higher education professionals.
The Dewar College of Education and Human Services is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), is an American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) award winning institution, and is approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). We continually strive for excellence with each renewal of accreditation. In addition, several of our programs are accredited or nationally recognized by their specialized professional organizations.
Responsibilities
Position will be responsible for teaching adult and career education courses at the undergraduate level, within the specialty area of Office Administration and Technology, and all graduate levels in Adult and Career Education (master’s, specialist, and/or doctoral) in a variety of delivery methods (face to face, online, and/or hybrid).
Required Qualifications
Terminal degree at the time of appointment in the appropriate field (e.g., education, human resource development, adult and career education, or education psychology);
Record of successful online teaching appropriate to applicant’s career stage;
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship;
Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
A record of effective teaching in higher education appropriate to the applicant’s career stage;
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds;
Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees.
