Call for Manuscripts
The world faces a crisis, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which arose seemingly suddenly and unexpectedly. World government and corporate leaders are striving to deal with this pandemic, but uncertainty is felt across the globe. Organizations face situations where old approaches do not work without a clear perspective on what must be done. The world seems to be on hold as more and more organizations are shutdown with no sure indication of when they will open again.
Unprecedented strategies (e.g. the United States’ government’s multi-trillion-dollar stimulus package(s). Individual organizations are creating their own responses to the situation. All of these responses will have potential long-term impact on the nature of work and the nature of the contract (actual or psychological) that exists between management and employees of both small and large companies. Changes may result in how basic organizational processes (e.g. leadership, decision-making, work-family balance; work motivation, etc) as the result of this crisis.
This is a call for manuscripts which will be chapters in a volume of the Research in Organizational Sciences published by InfoAge Publishing. This volume is tentatively entitled Crisis and Chaos and Organizations: The Coronavirus and Lessons for Organizational Theory. Manuscripts may be either theoretical/conceptual or empirical. Manuscripts should describe the potential impact of this crisis on long-term organizational changes in the way work is done and/or managed as we get through this crisis.
