The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Southern Maine is seeking two tenure-track Assistant Professors for the graduate program in Adult and Higher Education.
The Adult and Higher Education Program is a practitioner-oriented master's degree for early and mid-career professionals in adult and higher education, community education, non-profit leadership, employee development, health services, and other organizational settings. Our program believes that personal and professional change is best accomplished through lifelong learning. We believe that attention to individual goals, reflective and experiential learning, and opportunities to apply skills prepares students for professional leadership roles in adult and higher education. The targeted starting date for this position is Fall 2023 and will pay an annual salary of $65,000. The Adult and Higher Education Program offers a Master of Science degree and post-master's certificate. Both credentials are designed to be earned online; there may be an occasional opportunity to teach in a blended format.

Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in adult education, higher education, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated interest in and/or prior experience teaching online.
Ability to teach both theory and applied courses in adult and higher education.
Evidence of having begun a record of scholarship through peer reviewed publication, action research project reports, conference presentations, and/or grant writing.
Evidence of commitment to diversity, student success, encouraging active learning, and community engagement.
