The Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership (EPOL) in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) invites applications for a full-time tenure-system Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position in Human Resource Development. The proposed starting date for this position is August 16, 2022. The Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership includes concentrations in Educational Administration and Leadership, Higher Education, Human Resource Development, History of Education, Philosophy of Education, Diversity and Equity in Education, Global Studies in Education, Learning Design and Leadership, and Social Science and Educational Policy.
We seek applicants who will contribute to one or more of our departmental graduate concentrations with teaching and research that address topics in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion in human resource development, international and cross-cultural human resource development, workforce development and policy development, though we welcome applicants with a broader range of human resource development interest pertinent to learning and performance in various contexts.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to make the following contributions to the undergraduate and graduate programs within EPOL and the College of Education:
Design and teach courses in human resource development, with an emphasis on the integration of theory, research, and application in a variety of organizational and institutional learning situations in the private and public sectors.
Contribute to EPOL-wide teaching and advising activities.
Plan and implement a program of research and grant writing related to human resource development and pertinent areas of scholarship.
Pursue external funding through grants and contracts.
Advise master and doctoral students.
Collaborate with department and college faculty on key strategic initiatives.
Serve on department, College of Education, and campus committees, and fulfill various other assignments consistent with an academic role.
Serve in leadership capacities and play an active role in human resource development professional associations.
Qualifications:
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution, with an emphasis in human resource development or closely related field.
A record of scholarly productivity in the field of human resource development or closely related fields exhibited through research, publication, and grant-seeking activity.
Evidence of experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in human resource development.
Ability and interest in advising and mentoring graduate students in EPOL.
Demonstrated service records in human resource development professional associations or related communities.
A thorough understanding of human resource development philosophy, theories, and curriculum.
Experience in human resource development practice through professional engagement.
Interest and/or experience in teaching in online and international environments.
Interest and ability to work synergistically across disciplines.
The ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups at the university level as well as in the public and private sectors.
Candidates at associate professor level should: 1) have established scholarship and publication records competitive at the national level, 2) have evidence of effective teaching and advising students at various levels, 3) have a demonstrated record of grants and/or contracts, and 4) have a demonstrated record of service and leadership at related academic and/or professional communities.
Starting Date and Salary: The proposed starting date is August 16, 2022. This is a 100 percent appointment on a nine-month service basis paid over twelve months, with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications.
